We currently have an excellent opportunity for a driven and motivated individual who has a passion for selling outdoor gear to join our team as our Sales Director – Latin America; this position is a remote position, located in southern region of the US with easy access to a major airport.

The Sales Director for Latin America (LATAM) will be responsible for providing management and oversight of the company’s business and distribution across Latin America. This position will nurture our existing business relationships with distributors and will be tasked with creating new opportunities for the Sea to Summit Brand and product line within this region. The LATAM Sales Director will be responsible for building long-term customer relationships with current and future distribution partners and retailers and aligning Latin American market strategies with the global strategic objectives of the Brand.
Position Duties & Requirements
  • Strategically develop regional objectives, targets, plans, pricing, and budgets specifically to achieve a consistent yet regionally appropriate plan to grow sales and Brand awareness.
  • Cultivate and foster strong relationships with distributors and key retail partners by being a “Relentless Ally”.
  • Plan and implement effective, and sustainable distribution strategies to improve brand position, sales performance and strengthen business partnerships aligned to Brand objectives.
  • Collaborate with marketing to create or adapt targeted regional campaigns to drive sales and Brand awareness in regional markets, consumer channels, and with key retail partners.
  • Identify new business opportunities through networking and regional market intimacy, ensuring Sea to Summit is always represented by the right regional partners and is receiving appropriate levels of focus and support.
  • Support regional Distributors with Key Account sell-in / sales opportunities, representing Sea to Summit in these key meetings and negotiations on an annual, seasonal, or as needed basis.
  • Negotiate pricing and distribution agreements with each regional partner ensuring performance measures are achieved or action is taken to support or correct underperformance.
  • Ensure achievement of all monthly / quarterly / annual sales and business targets.
  • Manage all day-to-day communication with distribution partners in the regions.
  • In coordination with leadership, develop and execute detailed business plans and budgets for LATAM regions annually.
  • Manage the LATAM P&L. Track and report performance and variance to sales plan, margin, and expenses.
  • Collect and consolidate all orders from distribution partners and deliver by due dates for each order cycle.
  • Develop and maintain a 3-yr business roadmap to achieve longer term growth strategies in the region.
  • Travel in-market frequently to achieve market intimacy and nurture relationships with regional partners. Minimum [4] market visits per year.
  • Demonstrate “nimbility”, providing cross functional support for other teams and business functions as needed. 
  • Work in tandem with various departments and maintain flexible attitude supporting all the work that helps in achieving organizational goals, along with other duties as assigned
Our ideal candidate would have the following:
  • 5+ years leading international sales
  • Proven track record of meeting key performance metrics in previous positions
  • Bilingual (Fluent English / Spanish) with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish, Portuguese is a plus.
  • Strategic sales management and relationship building with international distributors, and proven experience building and maintaining relationships with an internationally diverse range of clients
  • Outstanding sales and negotiation skills
  • Experience managing a P&L and successfully delivering on financial targets
  • Proficient in all MS Office applications especially MS Excel & PowerPoint
  • Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with both customers and peers
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and takes initiative
  • Ability to mine for insight and actions from data
  • Professional and comfortable speaking with customers or giving presentations to a group.
  • Organized with high attention to detail and follow-through  
  • Experience working within structured templates including reporting, performance, strategic planning, and assortment architecture
  • Thorough understanding of technical aspects of our products to be sold.
  • Willing to work a non-standard schedule, inc. evenings & weekends and to travel internationally for extended periods. This role requires approximately 90 days of travel per year.
  • Current Driver’s License & Passport along with an excellent driving record
